Exonians to take part in Olympic torch relay

Sir Roger Bannister (1946, Physiological Sciences) and Alan Chen (2010, Financial Economics) will help carry the Olympic Torch in Oxford next week.

The Olympic torch is currently being taken on an 8,000-mile journey around the UK. Mr Chen will help carry the torch through the Oxford leg of the relay on 9 July.

Sir Roger Bannister will carry the torch on 10 July at the University’s Iffley Road running track where Sir Roger beat the four-minute mile for the first time, 58 years ago.
