Fellow appointed NIHR Senior Investigator

Fellow in Medicine Professor Andrew Farmer has been appointed one of 19 new National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Senior Investigators, a faculty of 200 leading clinical, applied and social care researchers, for a term of five years.

Senior Investigators are the NIHR’s pre-eminent researchers and represent the country’s most outstanding leaders of clinical and applied health and social care research. They are fundamental to the formation of the NIHR Faculty.

There are now five members of this faculty from the University of Oxford. Formerly Professor Hugh Watkins, another Fellow in Medicine at Exeter College, also served as an NIHR Senior Investigator.
