Friends reunite for 1990-94 Gaudy

On Saturday 29 June nearly 150 matriculands from 1990-1994 returned to Exeter College for their Gaudy in glorious sunshine.

Our alumni enjoyed an afternoon programme which included sampling some of the delights from Exeter College’s wine cellar, led by the College’s wine steward, Hanneke Wilson. There were also archive items on display in the Neil Blair Special Collections Reading Room, so guests could compare how the years had, or had not affected them! Following tours around Cohen Quad, guests were able to enjoy Oxford in the sunshine before returning to College for Evensong and the black tie dinner as the sun set over Oxford. Professors John Maddicott, Dermot Roaf, Peter Jones and Paul Snowdon were thrilled to see so many of their former students, and judging by the noise levels in Hall the dinner was thoroughly enjoyed by all. There was high praise for the food in particular, which was apparently a far cry from the offerings back in the early 1990s!

The next Gaudy for this cohort will be in 2024, and we hope many will return once again to relive their student days.
