Matt Hancock (1996, PPE) re-elected MP for West Suffolk
Exeter alumnus Matt Hancock (1996, PPE) has been re-elected Member of Parliament for West Suffolk, representing the Conservative party. Mr Hancock comfortably defended his seat, takingĀ 33,842 votes – a share of 65.8% of the vote, up 4.6% from 2017.
Mr Hancock will also keep his positionĀ as Secretary of State for Health and Social Care in Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s new Cabinet.
Following the General Election result Mr Hancock wrote on Twitter: ‘A huge thank you to every single person who campaigned and voted for the Conservatives,’ adding that he was ‘Humbled to be entrusted with the future of our wonderful NHS.’
