Matthew Hancock (1996, PPE) promoted in Cabinet reshuffle

Exeter alumnus Matthew Hancock (1996, PPE), MP for West Suffolk, has been promoted in the latest Cabinet reshuffle by the Conservative party.

Mr Hancock has been made Minister of State for Skills and Enterprise. He was formerly a Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Skills and Enterprise.

The role is split between the Department for Education and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.

Mr Hancock is seen by many as a young star of the Conservative party and was recently touted as a future leader of the Conservative party in The Independent.
