Matthew Hancock MP (1996, PPE) wins charity race at Newmarket

Congratulations to Matthew Hancock (1996, PPE), MP for West Suffolk, who recently won the Newmarket Cavalry Charge charity race.

Mr Hancock had to lose over a stone to be able to compete in the charity race, as well as learn how to handle a race horse. He rode Dick Doughtywylie to a three-length victory over the mile-long race at Newmarket.

Mr Hancock raised over £10,000 for Racing Welfare and the Household Cavalry Operational Casualties Fund. You can view a video of the race here.
