Oxford University Exploration Club invites alumni to get in touch

The Oxford University Exploration Club wishes to invite alumni of the Club plus anyone who might be interested in being involved, to get in touch. They are looking to expand their membership and to encourage Oxford alumni to attend the Club’s annual Explorer’s Dinner at Oriel College on March 11th 2013.

The Oxford University Exploration Club aims to help improve people’s knowledge of the world through overseas exploration by members of the University of Oxford. Since the Club’s foundation in 1929, it has inspired and supported student-led expeditions to virtually every region of the world.

This past year, the Club provided funds to assist expeditions with aims as diverse as completing the world’s deepest cave diving traverse and understanding the elephant-shrews of northern Mozambique.

The guest speakers at the annual dinner will be Sarah Outen, the first woman to row solo across the Indian Ocean, Matthew Blake, who cycled 46,000 miles around the world, visiting over 60 countries, and Anthony Jinman, who led the Anglo-Canadian Arctic Jubilee Expedition to the Queen Elizabeth Islands in Canada in 2012.

If you would like to attend, or would like more information, please contact Tiffany Chezum at dinnercoordinator.ouec@gmail.com.
