I grew up in Glasgow, before studying Philosophy and French, here at Exeter College, Oxford. After graduating, I worked as a secondary school teacher in Southampton, with the Teach First programme. Then I returned to Philosophy, completing the MPhil Stud at University College London. Now, I am back at Oxford as a DPhil student, supervised by Dr Kate Kirkpatrick at Regent’s Park College and funded by the Oxford-Pamela Sue Anderson Graduate Scholarship. I am a Retained Lecturer at Exeter College, teaching ethics, aesthetics, and feminist theory.

My doctoral research focuses on the relationship between our ideological commitments and our affective ones. More specifically, I’m interested in what, if anything, grounds love for a particular person and what might be gained by subjecting these grounds to social, and especially feminist, critique.
