I am Retained Lecturer here at Exeter College, teaching undergraduate finals papers in Philosophy and Politics – including, Aesthetics and the Philosophy of Criticism, Ethics, Practical Ethics, and Feminist Theory.
Alongside my teaching role, I am a DPhil (PhD) student in Philosophy at Regent’s Park College, Oxford, where I am supervised by Kate Kirkpatrick and funded by the Oxford-Pamela Sue Anderson Graduate Scholarship. My doctoral research focuses on the relationship between our ideological commitments and our affective, or emotional, ones. I’m especially interested in feminist critiques of romanticism about love, the moralisation of beauty norms, and the decentring of friendship.
I grew up in Glasgow, before studying Philosophy and French here at Exeter College, Oxford. After graduating, I qualified as a secondary school teacher in Southampton with the Teach First programme. Then I returned to Philosophy, completing the MPhil Stud in Philosophical Studies at University College London.
