Nigel Portwood is Chief Executive of Oxford University Press, a role he has held since August 2009.
He has an MA in Engineering from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from INSEAD. Nigel started his career with Michelin before joining OC&C Strategy Consultants in 1990 as a Management Consultant.
In 1995 he joined Pearson Plc, and over 14 years there worked as Group Director of Strategy, CEO of Pearson Education’s Europe, Middle East and Africa business, and Executive Vice President of Global Operations for the Penguin Group – based in New York.
Nigel is also a fellow of Exeter College, and a member of the Management Board of Oxford University’s Blavatnik School of Government.
