Professor Francis Edwin Close, OBE, BSc St And, MA DPhil Oxf, FInstP
Professor Close became a Fellow in Physics at Exeter College in 2001. Previously, he had been Research Fellow at Stanford (1970–72). In addition, he was Research Scientist at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (1975–2000). In 1993, he was the Royal Institution Christmas Lecturer.
