Professor Christina de Bellaigue publishes Home Education in Historical Perspective

Professor Christina de Bellaigue, Fellow in History, has edited a collection of case studies, Home Education in Historical Perspective: Domestic pedagogies in England and Wales, 1750-1900. The collection is published by Routledge and will be available from 24 March.

The book is the first publication to devote serious attention to the history of home education from the late 18th to the early 20th century. It brings together work by historians, literary scholars and current practitioners who shed new light on the history of home-schooling in the UK both as a practice and as a philosophy.
