Professor Luciano Floridi elected Fellow of prestigious Italian Academy of Sciences
Professor Luciano Floridi, Fellow of Exeter College and Professor of Philosophy and Ethics of Information, has been elected Fellow of the Academy of Sciences of the Institute of Bologna (Accademia delle Scienze dell’Istituto di Bologna). Founded in 1690, it is one of the oldest academies in Italy, and has actively promoted debate and published original work for over 300 years.
The Academy is divided into two Classes, Physical and Moral. Professor Floridi, who recently published two books on his theory of philosophy as intellectual design, has been elected as one of only 60 fellows of the Moral Class.
Upon the announcement Professor Floridi commented on Twitter that he is ‘delighted and deeply honoured to have been elected’. Exeter College congratulates him on his success.
