Rector completes 192-mile walk

On 8 August the Rector completed her walk from Exeter Cathedral to Exeter College, covering 192 miles in 11 days. She passed through Dorset, Devon, Somerset, Wiltshire and Oxfordshire, visiting local communities, churches and historical sites along the way.

She was greeted at the Head of the River pub by students resident in Exeter on a Summer School.

As she entered Turl Street, surrounded by walking companions and family, a piper led her towards the College – causing great delight for the tourists!

Once inside the College, she was cheered by the gathered Fellows and College staff, before heading to the Lodgings for a well earned cup of tea, and a photo call from the press!

The Rector has so far raised a staggering £17,321, and is now hoping to raise £25,000. If you would like to donate to the Richard Sandbrook Scholarship, which provides internship opportunities for Exeter students to work on environmental projects, please click here.
