Telethon raises £150,000 for Alumni Fund
This March, Exeter celebrated 20 years of telephone campaigns! Ten current students spent two weeks speaking with alumni around the world – thank you if you were one of the nearly 300 people they spoke to.
An extra big thank you if you were one of the 66% of alumni contacted who chose to make a gift and support the Alumni Fund – together you raised nearly £150,000.
The Alumni Fund helps to provide all of the support current, and prospective students might need during their time at Exeter. The Fund also supports the continued development of the College’s Access and Outreach programme, maintenance of the tutorial system, and the provision of a wide range of grants and bursaries. Gifts to the Alumni Fund are distributed to projects in the same financial year as they are made, and so they have an immediate impact on current students and the wider College community.
Annabel, a second-year history student who took part in this year’s Telethon, said:
“I’ve had so many interesting chats over the Telethon. It’s been lovely getting some insight into all the different careers alumni have pursued and hearing how much Exeter means to so many people. A massive thank you to everyone for your support towards the Alumni Fund; it makes a huge difference to everyone here at College!”
Thank you for taking part and supporting Exeter students. You will receive updates on how the Alumni Fund makes a difference via e-news and Thank You.
