Alumni enjoy networking event in the City

Marlena Valles discusses child protection laws

On Wednesday 29 November around 60 alumni joined the Rector and host, Harold Paisner (friend of the College), at the offices of Berwin Leighton Paisner on London Bridge, with spectacular views across the River Thames, for the annual Winter City Drinks event.

This year saw a new format to the popular event, with Graduate students giving 5-minute presentations to reveal some of the current academic work taking place at Exeter College. Marlena Valles, studying for a DPhil in Law, discussed her research on child protection laws, and Mark Chonofsky explained his research on proteins, and how they change, in an entertaining and accessible fashion. The talks provided much topic for discussion for the rest of what was an enjoyable evening.
