There are a number of Fellows at Exeter who study the living world. Professor Charles Foster has been working on the moral status of non-human animals, publishing books on the topic including Cry of the Wild and appearing in documentaries about animal consciousness. The Chair of Exeter’s Sustainability Committee, Dr Robert A. Montgomery, has recently been awarded a major ERC grant to investigate the effects of human predation on the group dynamics of large mammals.
